How to schedule TikTok posts
On this page
To schedule a TikTok, upload the video from a computer in TikTok Studio (tiktok.com/tiktokstudio/upload), fill in the caption and settings, and under When to post choose Schedule, then pick a date and time. You can schedule from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead, so plan in weekly batches. Tools connected to TikTok's API can schedule too, and can post the same clip to other platforms.
Schedule a TikTok with TikTok Studio
- On a computer, open TikTok Studio and click Upload.
- Choose the vertical video (9:16).
- Write the caption and hashtags, and pick a cover.
- Set Who can watch this video and whether people can comment, duet or stitch.
- Under When to post, choose Schedule and set the date and time.
- Click Schedule.
Scheduled videos appear in TikTok Studio under Posts, where you can change or delete them before they go out.
What TikTok's own scheduler can't do
- Plan far ahead. TikTok introduced its scheduler with a window of 15 minutes to 10 days. A month of clips needs a tool or a weekly reminder.
- Post elsewhere. It posts only to TikTok. The same clip still has to be uploaded to Shorts and Reels by hand.
- Batch. Each video is its own upload, caption and time.
What goes wrong
- No Schedule option. Scheduling isn't in every version of the phone app. Use TikTok Studio on the web.
- Watermarked video on other platforms. If you download a TikTok to re-post it on Reels or Shorts, it carries the TikTok watermark, which other platforms show less. Keep the clean original and post it to each platform. See TikTok vs YouTube Shorts.
- Captions hidden. TikTok's caption and buttons cover the bottom and right of the video. Keep on-screen captions in the middle. See how to add captions on TikTok.
- Music unavailable. Commercial music depends on your account type. Business accounts only get the Commercial Music Library.
Scheduling through a tool: what TikTok requires
Apps that post to TikTok for you go through TikTok's Content Posting API, and TikTok sets the rules in its content sharing guidelines. Before each post, the app must show your account name, let you pick who can watch (nothing preselected), let you choose whether people can comment, duet or stitch, and show TikTok's music and branded-content terms. If an app skips those steps, it isn't posting the way TikTok requires.
ClipFlame's scheduler follows that flow. You connect your TikTok account once, pick the clip, choose its settings, and put it on the calendar, along with YouTube, Instagram and Facebook if you want. The clips can be ones ClipFlame cut from your long video (see YouTube to TikTok) or any finished MP4 you upload.
When to post on TikTok
TikTok shows your followers' active hours under TikTok Studio → Analytics → Followers. Schedule shortly before the busiest hours in your audience's time zone. TikTok's feed tests videos with non-followers too, so a strong first two seconds matter more than the exact hour.
Common questions
Can you schedule TikTok posts from your phone?
In some versions of the app you can; if you don't see the option, use TikTok Studio in a browser, including a phone browser in desktop mode.
Do scheduled TikToks get less reach?
There's no evidence TikTok penalises scheduled videos. They're published at the time you set like any other upload.
How far ahead can you schedule a TikTok?
Up to 10 days ahead in TikTok Studio, and at least 15 minutes. For longer plans, use a scheduler connected to TikTok's API.
Do I need a Business account to schedule?
No. Personal and Business accounts can both schedule in TikTok Studio. Business accounts have a smaller music library.
Can I schedule the same video to TikTok and Reels?
Yes, with a multi-platform scheduler. See how to post to Reels, Shorts and TikTok at the same time.
