ClipFlame vs Klap

On this page

ClipFlame is the better pick if you want lots of clips from every episode. You pay for hours of video, not per clip, so each upload gives up to 20 clips, every one scored for virality, captioned and ready to schedule to four platforms. Starter is $19 a month for 4 hours of video, on monthly billing. Klap charges by clips generated, and its listed prices ($14 for 100 clips, $39 for 300) are for yearly billing.

A 16:9 talking-head video with a vertical crop box around the speaker, and the 9:16 clip it becomes with bold captions

Both tools take a long video and return short captioned vertical clips. The biggest difference is what you pay for: ClipFlame counts hours of video, Klap counts clips. If you've ever deleted a good clip to stay under a clip quota, that difference matters.

Disclosure: we make ClipFlame. Klap's plans were checked on its pricing page in October 2026.

Pricing: hours vs clips

With Klap, the number that matters is how many clips you generate, including the ones you throw away. With ClipFlame, it's how many hours of video you upload, and every clip from them is included.

Your schedule Clips a month ClipFlame (monthly) Klap (yearly)
Weekly 60-minute podcast, 15 clips each 60 Starter, $19 Basic, $14
Weekly 2-hour podcast, 20 clips each 80 Pro, $39 Basic, $14, close to its 100-clip cap
Two 90-minute shows a week, 20 clips each 160 Pro, $39 Pro, $39
Ten 2-hour episodes a month, 20 clips each 200 Pro, $39 Pro, $39

The more clips you want from each episode, the better ClipFlame's model looks: twenty clips cost the same as five. And you can pay month to month, where Klap's listed prices need a year up front.

Virality scores and clip quality

Both tools read the transcript and score their clips. In ClipFlame, every clip gets a 0-100 score, clips come back sorted best first, and clips scoring 80 or more are highlighted.

ClipFlame is strict about clip edges: every clip starts and ends on a full sentence and has to make sense to someone who hasn't seen the episode. Clips run 15 to 90 seconds, most of them 20 to 60. Nudge an edge or fix a word and re-render for free, up to 30 times per video, without touching any quota.

What you get with every clip

  • Captions in seven word-by-word styles, three in your brand colour.
  • Formats in 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1.
  • A title and hashtags written for each platform.
  • The brand kit: your watermark, end card and caption colour.
  • Scheduling to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook through the scheduler, on every plan.

Languages

ClipFlame detects the spoken language and captions in it, across 9 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian and Hindi, with proper Devanagari script for Hindi. Captions can be translated into any of the others with the timing kept.

Common questions

Is ClipFlame cheaper than Klap?

It depends on how many clips you want. ClipFlame's price doesn't change with clip count: up to 20 clips per video for $19 a month on Starter, with 4 hours of video, billed monthly. Klap's $14 Basic plan is billed yearly and stops at 100 clips a month.

Can ClipFlame make as many clips as I want from one video?

Up to 20 per video, and you pay for hours of video, not per clip. A two-hour episode uses two hours whether you keep five clips or twenty.

Does Klap have a free trial?

Klap's pricing page doesn't list one. ClipFlame's free trial covers your first 10 minutes of video, with every feature.
