Caption generator
Type what your post is about and pick Instagram or TikTok. You get 12 captions, each with a question or a call to action that invites comments, saves or shares, and four hashtags made from your topic. Copy one, add a detail only you know, and post.
What a caption is for
The video does the work; the caption gets the reaction afterwards. Comments, saves and shares tell the platform the video is worth showing to more people, and a caption that asks for one of them gets more of it. Ask for one thing per post.
Length limits
| Platform | Caption limit | Shown before "more" |
|---|---|---|
| 2,200 characters | About the first 125 | |
| TikTok | 2,200 characters | About the first line or two |
Put the point and the question first; it's often all anyone reads. Check longer captions with the character counter, and keep paragraph breaks on Instagram with the line break generator.
Captions for every clip
When you cut clips from a long video with ClipFlame, each one comes with a caption and hashtags written for each platform from what was said in the clip.
Common questions
How long should an Instagram caption be?
Captions can run to 2,200 characters, but only about the first 125 show before "more". Put the point and the question in that first line.
How many hashtags should I add to an Instagram post?
Up to 5. Since December 2025 Instagram allows at most 5 hashtags per post or Reel, so the generator adds four made from your topic.
Are the captions free to use?
Yes. Copy any caption, add a detail only you know, and post it. There's no sign-up.
Can it write captions for TikTok?
Yes. Pick TikTok as the platform and the captions and hashtags change to suit it.
