Short video script generator
Pick a topic, a length and a format, and get a timed outline for a Short, Reel or TikTok: the hook, each section with how long it runs and roughly how many words fit, and a call to action. The parts in brackets are yours to fill in, because they're what makes the video yours.
How the timing works
People speak at about 150 words a minute on camera, or 2.5 words a second. A 30-second script has room for about 75 words. The hook gets the first 3 seconds and the call to action the last 2 or 3; the rest is split between the main points. A 15-second script has one point only.
Writing each part
- Hook: the generated line is a starting point. Make it specific to your video, and keep it under 3 seconds.
- Points: one idea each. Say what to do, then why. Cut anything the viewer doesn't need to understand the next line.
- Call to action: one ask. "Follow for part 2" works when there is a part 2.
Read the script out loud with a timer before you film. If it runs long, cut words, not speed.
Record once, post many
If you already talk on camera for longer formats, a podcast or a YouTube video, you may not need a script at all. ClipFlame finds the moments that work as Shorts and cuts them for you.
