Video resizer
Choose a video and a shape: 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, 1:1 square, 4:5 portrait or 16:9 landscape. Crop to fill cuts the sides (or top and bottom) to fill the frame; Keep chooses which part stays. Fit the whole video keeps everything and adds black bars. The video is converted in your browser, so it's never uploaded, and there's no watermark.
Output sizes
| Shape | Size | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| 9:16 | 1080 × 1920 | Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Stories |
| 1:1 | 1080 × 1080 | Square feed posts, LinkedIn |
| 4:5 | 1080 × 1350 | Instagram and Facebook feed |
| 16:9 | 1920 × 1080 | YouTube, LinkedIn, X |
The resizer never makes a video bigger than its source. A 720p video cropped to 9:16 comes out at 404 × 720, not upscaled to 1080 × 1920.
When a fixed crop isn't enough
A center crop works when the subject stays in the middle of the frame. When people move, or two speakers sit at opposite sides, a fixed crop cuts someone off. ClipFlame follows the speaker through the video and reframes each shot, and it also finds the best moments in a long recording and adds captions.
Browser support
Conversion uses your browser's built-in video encoder (WebCodecs). It works in recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on desktop and on phones. Long 4K videos take a while and use a lot of memory; keep the tab open until it finishes.
Common questions
What size is a video for Reels, Shorts and TikTok?
1080 × 1920 pixels, a 9:16 vertical frame. The same file works on all three.
Crop or fit: which should I choose?
Crop to fill when the subject stays in the middle. Fit the whole video when nothing can be cut, which adds black bars.
Will it add a watermark?
No. The video is converted in your browser, with no upload and no watermark.
What if the speaker moves around the frame?
A fixed crop can cut them off. ClipFlame follows the speaker through each shot when it reframes to 9:16.
