Dutch subtitle generator
On this page
ClipFlame generates Dutch subtitles (Nederlandse ondertitels) for short clips. Upload a long Dutch or Flemish video, and it cuts the best moments into vertical clips with word-by-word Dutch captions and writes each clip's post in Dutch.
Dutch creators often default to English because tools handle Dutch poorly. ClipFlame detects Dutch and keeps the captions in Dutch.
ClipFlame captions the clips it cuts from a long video. If you need a subtitle file for a full-length video, use YouTube Studio's captions for that; see how to add captions to a video.
What Dutch captions need
- Long compounds. Words like arbeidsongeschiktheidsverzekering shrink to fit in the One Word style.
- IJ and diacritics. Ë, É and the ij spelling are kept as transcribed.
- Netherlands and Flanders. Both are transcribed as spoken.
- English loanwords. Common in Dutch speech; check them in the editor.
What it looks like
A clip that opens on this line:
De grootste fout is nooit beginnen.
In the bold all-caps styles it appears as:
DE GROOTSTE FOUT IS NOOIT BEGINNEN.
How it works
- Upload a long Dutch video (MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM) or a Google Drive or Dropbox link.
- Dutch is detected automatically. No settings to change.
- ClipFlame picks the moments that make sense on their own and cuts them on full sentences, 15 to 90 seconds each.
- Captions are burned in word by word, in one of seven styles.
- Fix any word in the editor and re-render for free.
On every plan, the scheduler posts the clips to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
Who uses it
Dutch and Flemish podcasters, coaches, trainers, educators and marketing teams.
Pricing
Starter $19/month for 4 hours of video a month; Pro $39/month for 20 hours. Your first 10 minutes of video are free.
