English subtitle generator

On this page

ClipFlame generates English subtitles for short clips automatically. Upload a long video in English, and it cuts the best moments into vertical clips with word-by-word English captions burned in, in seven styles, ready for YouTube Shorts, Reels and TikTok.

English is the language most caption tools are built around, so accuracy is rarely the problem. The problem is everything around the captions: finding the clip, cutting it cleanly, making the words readable on a phone, and fixing the names the transcript gets wrong. ClipFlame handles the whole chain from one long video.

ClipFlame captions the clips it cuts from a long video. If you need a subtitle file for a full-length video, use YouTube Studio's captions for that; see how to add captions to a video.

What English captions need

  • Accents. American, British, Indian, Australian and other English accents are all transcribed; clear audio matters more than accent.
  • Names, brands and jargon. These are where every transcript slips. Click the word in the editor, fix it, re-render for free.
  • Filler words. "Um", "uh" and long pauses inside each clip are cut by default, so captions don't fill up with noise.
  • All-caps or sentence case. Most styles use bold capitals; the Clean style keeps sentence case for calmer content.

What it looks like

A clip that opens on this line:

The biggest mistake is never starting.

In the bold all-caps styles it appears as:

THE BIGGEST MISTAKE IS NEVER STARTING.

How it works

  1. Upload a long English video (MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM) or a Google Drive or Dropbox link.
  2. English is detected automatically. No settings to change.
  3. ClipFlame picks the moments that make sense on their own and cuts them on full sentences, 15 to 90 seconds each.
  4. Captions are burned in word by word, in one of seven styles.
  5. Fix any word in the editor and re-render for free.

On every plan, the scheduler posts the clips to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

Who uses it

English-language podcasters, coaches, YouTubers, educators and marketing teams, and creators everywhere who publish in English as a second language.
