German subtitle generator

ClipFlame generates German subtitles (Untertitel auf Deutsch) for short clips. Upload a long German video, and it cuts the best moments into vertical clips with word-by-word German captions, handles long compound words and umlauts, and writes each clip's post in German.

German is hard on caption layouts. A single compound word like Rentenversicherungsbeitrag can be wider than a phone screen in a big bold font. ClipFlame's One Word style shrinks long words so they still fit the frame, and the other styles wrap lines around them.

What German captions need

• Long compound words. In the One Word style, words longer than nine characters are scaled down to fit.
• Umlauts. Ä, Ö and Ü render in every style.
• ß in capitals. The all-caps styles write ß as SS (GRÖSSTE), the standard capitalisation.
• Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Standard German from all three is transcribed; strong dialect may need a few fixes in the editor.
